Crystal36-AXAA 2026 Conference

Crystal36-AXAA 2026 is the first joint conference of the Society of Crystallographers in Australia and New Zealand (SCANZ) and the Australian X-ray Analytical Association (AXAA).

For the first time, the two organisations bring their members, a combined community of up to 700 scientists, together in one place.The program features plenary and keynote lectures, poster sessions, workshops, and a trade exhibition.

Conference themes

• X-ray, neutron and electron diffraction, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), microscale methods and imaging techniques
• Structural biology, including cryo-electron microscopy, pharmaceuticals, and AI systems like AlphaFold
• Metals, alloys, energy storage, materials and structural chemistry
• Applications in the environment, geology and mining, industrial materials, archaeology and cultural heritage
• New instrumentation, in-situ and operando experiments, and advanced data analysis methods
